Prunus lusitanica
Portuguese laurel boasts narrow pointed dark green leaves with maroon-coloured stems, this striking combination makes for an attractive hedge. During spring it produces small fragrant white flowers that attract bees and butterflies.
Easy to grow in all soils and situations, however, coastal conditions should be avoided.
