Prunus lusitanica
Portuguese laurel boasts narrow pointed dark green leaves with maroon-coloured stems, this striking combination makes for an attractive screening tree. During spring it produces small fragrant white flowers that attract bees and butterflies. Evergreen pleached trees are ideal for above fence screening.
Easy to grow in all soils and situations, however coastal conditions should be avoided.
