Phormium Tenax Purpureum
Phormium Tenax Purpureum also known as the New Zealand Flax are large evergreen perennials with striking sword-shaped leaves. The plant makes large clumps of dark coppery purple leaves, producing tall panicles of small red flowers in summer.
Ideally placed in a sunny border, in moist but well-drained soil. Easy to grow and tolerant of salt-laden winds. Remove dead or damaged leaves during spring.
